One of the most common questions is how often do I need to feed my plants? The answer to this question may be simpler than you think. In this short article, we will break it down for you, so you don’t have to wonder how often to feed your plants again.

What is a good feeding schedule throughout your plant's life

First off cannabis plants are tough and they can handle most problems without issue. Most can even grow their whole life without any nutrients and still provide some smokable bud at the end. But if you want the best quality and the most out of your harvest, you will want to have a good feeding schedule in order to help your plants stay at peak health.

Almost every nutrient line on the market has a schedule printed on the packages. Some can be confusing and still leave you with questions. Even with the printed schedule, you’ll still want to adjust to your plants as needed. Most nutrient lines will have you add more than necessary so you come back for more. It is recommended that you start with half of the dosage listed on the package. If your plant is young, you can start low and use just a quarter of the listed amount until your plants are used to the nutrients.

Now as for how often you need to feed, most directions are listed as a weekly amount. This can either be done in one watering per week or split into multiple waterings by using smaller portions each time you water. The larger the pots, the less you need to feed them. Some plants in larger pots may need to be fed only once a week or even once every two weeks.

Just keep it simple, feed your plants once a week at full strength or twice a week at half strength. Then the rest of the week you can just give them water. This process can go from seed to harvest. The important thing is remembering to be consistent. Soon you will be able to look at your plants and see if they need more or less of something and then you can adjust accordingly. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us.
