We are very proud to announce that Jenna Reifenheiser is our newest featured grower!

Jenna has over a decade of growing experience and has focused mainly on hydroponics. She is a quality grower that is focused on results rather than quantity and always has White Widow on hand, which she says helps her relieve muscle tension. Check out Jenna’s social media @oraclegardens on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

Jenna began her growing journey in 2010. She loves the challenges of growing cannabis particularly and prefers homegrown over store-bought because she knows where it comes from. Jenna currently uses an array of VIVOSUN products, from fabric pots to 1000W dimmable, air-cooled ballasts, to light bars, to a 4×2-foot grow tent, she has everything she needs to be a successful cultivator. Jenna’s attention to detail, passion for her work, attitude, and depth of expertise make us proud to feature her as one of our growers!

Q:

Which VIVOSUN products do you use? What is your favorite piece of equipment?

A:

I use 5 and 10-gallon fabric pots, 1000-Watt dimmable air-cooled HPS, an HCF1600 light bar, a 4×2 upgraded grow tent, a humidifier with built-in humidistat, light hanger pulleys, pruning scissors, and the seedling heat mat.

Q:

How long have you grown weed and/or smoke?

A:

I started smoking weed when I was 18 in 2003. I started growing in 2010 under California’s Prop 215.

Q:

Why did you decide you wanted to start growing cannabis? Or why do you grow?

A:

I grow for fun mostly. I enjoy plant care and especially enjoy the challenges of cannabis cultivation. It keeps you on your toes! I also really value knowing that what I smoke came from my hands and doesn’t have any mold.

Q:

What’s your favorite strain?

A:

White Widow. It’s a solid high that allows me to function throughout the day while also helping relieve muscle tension that I struggle with.

Q:

What’s your specialty? Organic, mostly organic, or hydroponics?

A:

Definitely hydroponics. I love digging in soil but I can’t seem to get it right when it comes to cannabis.

Q:

Auto, photo, both, or regs?

A:

Usually, photos from clones but occasionally from seeds. I haven’t messed around with autos yet.

Q:

Quality or quantity?

A:

QUALITY. Hands down. I think the quantity directive is really bringing down the industry.

Q:

What is your biggest yield from one plant?

A:

A quarter pound from one plant that was less than 3 feet tall.

Q:

Do you have a short funny story about growing up or being stoned that you would like to share?

A:

This is kind of a “twofer,” Are you ready? I got so stoned with my friend one time that I spaced out hardcore. So much so that when I finally came back to this universe, I realized I had my mouth open the whole time. I closed my dry, parched mouth and suddenly felt something on the back of my tongue. Come to find out, I had trapped a fly in my mouth and killed it! In a state of shock, I reached for the Mountain Dew bottle in my friend’s hand. Before she could stop me I chugged the small amount of liquid at the bottom of it to try to wash the fly guts from my mouth. And that’s when she let me know that she had been ashing her cigarette into it.

Q:

What’s your favorite stoner movie and song (but it’s ok if it’s not a stoner movie/song)?

A:

Grandma’s Boy  “Never throw a bong, kid.”

Q:

What is your favorite way to medicate? Joints, blunts, pipes, bongs, edibles, something else?

A:

Bong, glass, beaker style, not too tall, not too short.

Q:

If you were stranded on an island with an abundance of cannabis, what 3 things would you want to have with you?

A:

A spool of hemp wick, a fire starter, and a silicone bong.

Q:

What’s the 1 piece of advice you would give to a new grower? Or what is the one thing you wished someone told you before you started?

A:

Everybody always comes out with “check your pH.” While that’s super important, I think that what I like to call “The 3 D’s” are some things that get overlooked even more often. The “3 D’s” are Defoliate, Defoliate, and DEFOLIATE! You really would have a hard time overdoing it and I think defoliating scares a lot of growers but it prevents mold and powdery mildew and helps the plants direct their energy to big bud production.
