The difference between varieties of Sativa, Indica, Hybrid

There are currently three major varieties of marijuana: Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid. Before growing a marijuana plant it’s important to first understand exactly how to care for the particular variety you’re growing. Different cannabis varieties have different growing needs, and meeting the growing needs of different varieties can help you achieve higher flower bud yields. Knowing the differences in how they are grown can mean a lot to first-time growers.

Sativa

Cannabis sativa mainly grows in hot, dry, sunny places including Southeast Asia, West Asia, Central America, and Africa. Sativa-like cannabis can make users feel high, light, and cheerful, full of energy and creativity, improve concentration, relieve depression, stimulate appetite, and suppress nausea.

Sativa has finger-shaped leaves and the plant is tall and thin. These plants usually take longer to mature than Indica and can grow to over 12 feet.

Key features of Sative:

1) Long flowering time

2) Low output

3) The plant is tall and slender, with thin and slender leaves

4) Higher temperature and humidity are required

5) Flower buds are longer, airier, and more sparse

Indica

Cannabis indica is native to Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and Turkey in harsh, dry climates. Indica cannabinoids can produce powerful physiological effects that relieve insomnia and are accompanied by a mild sedative effect.

The Indica variety has short, stocky plants with wider leaves and a short growth period, making it suitable for growers with limited planting space.

Key features of Indica:

1) short flowering time

2) High output

3) The plant is short and strong, with broad leaves

4) The flower buds are tight

Hybrid

The hybrid variety is a hybrid of Sativa and Indica, which integrates the advantages of the two major varieties and is the first choice of most growers.

Main features of Hybrid:

1) Combining the characteristics of Sativa and Indica

2) High flower bud yield

3) short flowering time

4) Better growth adaptability and stronger disease resistance
